IDENTIFYING RESULTS

Many claims are made about the power of music and its potential to achieve positive effects in building peace, community cohesion and individual well-being. It is extremely difficult to measure the effects of projects and in particular to understand and track the link between the experience of participating in music-making and any changes in communities, conflicts and individuals.

Contrapuntal Music & Conflict will share explore some of the challenges, options and methods for evaluation. It will also highlight examples of evaluations and lessons learned. Contrapuntal Music & Conflict believes that musicians must be involved in developing the methodologies for identifying results so they are realistic but also consider all aspects of musical experiences.
